Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives experienced an upswing, aligning with the steady performance of the cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the new spot month of May 2026, alongside June 2026 and September 2026 contracts, recorded an increase of 24.5 points to settle at 1,744.0, 1,743.50, and 1,725.50, respectively. The newly introduced distant month of December 2026 was reported at 1,730.0.
The turnover decreased to 9,260 lots compared to 11,310 lots from the previous Thursday, while open interest saw a reduction, narrowing to 39,171 contracts from the earlier 43,924 contracts. At the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI rose by 17.75 points, marking a 1.03 percent increase, closing at 1,739.77 from the previous close of 1,722.02.
