KLCI Futures Experience Positive Opening

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives opened higher on Friday, reflecting an optimistic start for investors.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at 9.42 am, the July 2026 contract increased by 7.5 points to 1,724.0. The August 2026 and December 2026 contracts both rose by 7.0 points to 1,725.0 and 1,706.0, respectively, while the September 2026 contract advanced by 6.5 points to 1,704.0, indicating a positive sentiment in the market.

The turnover was reported at 3,513 lots, with open interest amounting to 45,365 contracts, showcasing active trading. By 10.05 am, the FBM KLCI itself had gained 0.54 of a point, reaching 1,720.94 compared to the previous day's close of 1,720.40, suggesting a steady upward momentum.
