KLCI Futures Contracts Close Higher Amid Increased Turnover

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher on Friday. The August 2026 and December 2026 contracts each rose by three points to 1,741.5 and 1,720.0, respectively. The September 2026 contract increased by 2.5 points to 1,720.0, while the March 2027 contract saw an uptick of 3.5 points to settle at 1,702.5.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the turnover for the futures contracts climbed to 9,574 lots, up from 7,230 lots recorded on Thursday. Additionally, open interest saw an increase, reaching 48,670 contracts compared to 46,315 contracts previously.

Despite the gains in futures contracts, the FBM KLCI index slightly decreased by 0.23 of a point, closing at 1,736.48 at 5 pm, compared to the previous day's close of 1,736.71.
