Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Friday, reflecting a downward trend in the market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the August 2026 and December 2026 contracts each declined by six points, settling at 1,726.0 and 1,706.5, respectively. The September 2026 contract experienced a decrease of five points, closing at 1,705.0. Meanwhile, the March 2027 contract saw a reduction of 6.5 points, ending at 1,689.0.
Turnover for the KLCI futures decreased, with 5,382 lots traded compared to 6,629 lots on Thursday, indicating a reduction in trading activity. Open interest also saw a decline, dropping to 41,862 contracts from the previous 44,568 contracts. By 5 pm, the FBM KLCI had fallen by 7.32 points, closing at 1,727.39, down from Thursday's close of 1,734.71.
