Kuala lumpur: The Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW) will not exceed the government-approved expenditure limits, affirmed Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the ministry's financial actions align strictly with the budget or approved governmental allocations. "What has been spent indirectly answers the question raised by KSP (Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Johan Mahmood Merican). No ministry can spend beyond what was stated in the budget speech or the approved allocation," stated Ahmad Zahid during the Strategic Collaboration Workshop between the Rural Community Centres (PKD) and National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI).

The issue of KKDW's budget allocations came into focus after Ahmad Zahid addressed delays in payments to contractors executing ministry projects. He noted that these delays were impacting contractors involved in government projects and highlighted the necessity of resolving this issue to prevent ongoing payment delays.

On September 2, Johan Mahmood Merican clarified that there were no restrictions concerning KKDW's allocation for rural road projects, confirming that the complete funding for these projects had already been distributed.
