Kuala lumpur: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi described the Royal Address of His Majesty, Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia in conjunction with the Opening Ceremony of the First Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament as concise and comprehensive, encompassing important matters that need attention. Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, emphasized the significance of the address, noting its potential to guide Members of Parliament during the upcoming debate on the Motion of Thanks for the Royal Address, scheduled to commence tomorrow.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid remarked that, despite the brevity of the address, it was packed with substantial messages, urging that these should be the focus during the parliamentary discussions. He stressed the importance of maintaining order during the debates and avoiding disruptions as the issues outlined by the King take precedence.
Ahmad Zahid further indicated that each ministry, including the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), has distinct policies and action plans ready for presentation and debate. He highlighted that KKDW has devised 42 game-changing initiatives planned for implementation this year. These initiatives will undergo thorough scrutiny by members of Parliament, who will conduct individual research to prepare for the debates in this parliamentary session.
He concluded by asserting that all primary programs outlined by the ministry will be executed in accordance with strategic planning. These matters will undoubtedly become central topics of discussion and debate in Parliament, reflecting the significance of the King's address in shaping legislative priorities.
