Kuala lumpur: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has issued a stern warning that more individuals are now within his 'radar' as part of an uncompromising mission to combat corruption across all government departments and agencies. His Majesty emphasized that corruption is a betrayal of the people's trust and will not be tolerated under any circumstances in the administration of the country.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, His Majesty stated that the fight against corruption is not limited to a select few departments or only those who engage in bribery. He warned that personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police, the Immigration Department, the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, and even the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission are under scrutiny. His Majesty also extended the warning to agents acting as 'middlemen' and suppliers of equipment, clothing, and medical supplies, declaring that they, too, are within his 'radar'.
Sultan Ibrahim stressed that efforts to combat corruption must be genuine and not merely rhetorical, underscoring that no one is above the law. He suggested that officers failing to perform their duties with integrity should be transferred immediately. His Majesty expressed his readiness to provide opportunities to deserving and honest individuals if current officers cannot fulfill their responsibilities truthfully.
In his Royal Address on February 19 at the Opening Ceremony of the First Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament, Sultan Ibrahim called for a large-scale fight against corruption, ensuring that no one is shielded from legal repercussions. His Majesty insisted that efforts to eradicate corruption should not solely target those receiving bribes but must also encompass those offering bribes, agents, or any parties involved in collusion, who should face firm action.
