KEMAS to Launch 4,000 Pre-Tahfiz Kindergarten Classes Nationwide

Putrajaya: The Community Development Department (Kemas) is set to enhance Quranic education by opening 4,000 Pre-Tahfiz Kindergarten classes for 60,000 children across the nation this year. This initiative represents a significant expansion in early childhood education, aimed at integrating Al-Quran learning into the foundational years of children.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized that this effort signifies the government’s dedication to maintaining Al-Quran education as a central element in nurturing a morally sound, informed, and competitive younger generation.

The program builds upon a pilot project initially conducted in 100 Kemas kindergartens, which involved 1,500 children. The pilot’s success has led to a substantial increase in participation, with 55,269 children enrolling by 2024.
