Jakarta: National pair Nur Syahira Amani Abdullah-Helena Jamal emerged champions in the girls' doubles event at the 25th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships at the Jaya Ancol Bowling Centre in Jakarta, Indonesia, today. The duo amassed 2,304 pinfalls over six games to claim gold, finishing 37 pins ahead of Hong Kong's Tavia Wong Tsz Ching-Law Wai Ching who took silver with 2,267.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nur Syahira-Helena registered combined scores of 331, 402, 385, 366, 394, and 426 across the six games. They produced a remarkable final-game surge after trailing the Hong Kong pair by 15 pins, with Helena rolling 240 and Nur Syahira contributing 186 for a combined 426, while Tavia (192) and Law (182) managed a total of 374.

Singapore's Foo Shi Ern Rachel-Lee Hyi En Shannon secured bronze with 2,263 pinfalls. Meanwhile, another Malaysian pair, Khaira Nur Aleesya Azrul Izwan-Ayra Deliza Mohd Kamarul Azizi finished fifth among 18 pairs with 2,218 pinfalls behind Taiwan's fourth-placed duo Liao Ssu-An-Li Yi-Rou who amassed 2,245. The championships run from Aug 21 to 30.
