MELAKA: The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) hopes that the selection process for the Youth Parliament can be conducted in a more open manner, said its Deputy Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim. He stated that with an open approach, more young people could be involved, thereby creating more opportunities for debate.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Adam Adli emphasized the importance of using the Youth Parliament as a platform for young people to sharpen their debating skills and explore ideas that can contribute to society. He encouraged young representatives to be critical and avoid emulating negative examples observed in the regular Parliament.
Adam Adli conveyed these thoughts to reporters after officiating the Fit Malaysia Parlimen Hang Tuah Jaya 2024 @ Melaka Wonderland programme. Furthermore, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul mentioned that the Youth Parliament will undergo a new format next year. The reforms will include a voting system similar to the general election, and representatives will
be selected from students of public universities and private higher education institutions across the nation.
