Kuala lumpur: The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has committed RM500,000 for the 2025 Lawn Bowls World Cup, set to commence from tomorrow until November 8. The Malaysia Stadium Corporation (PSM) has invested an additional RM1 million in acquiring a portable bowling green for the event.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh highlighted the collaborative effort in organizing the tournament. The World Cup was officially launched by Yeoh at Bukit Kiara. She announced plans to retain the portable bowling green at Stadium Juara as a training facility for the national team, in preparation for the upcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Yeoh has instructed PSM to coordinate the use of Stadium Juara to avoid scheduling conflicts with other sports activities.
Yeoh emphasized the importance of the infrastructure for both competitions and long-term training for national athletes, who will utilize it until June for Commonwealth Games preparations. PSM is tasked with adjusting the venue’s schedule, given its use for netball and badminton training.
