Kasih Johor Voucher Initiative to Boost Local Economy in Kampung Melayu Majidi

Johor bahru:<Text>

Residents of Kampung Melayu Majidi will soon benefit from the Johor Kasih vouchers, valued at RM200 per family, starting next month. The initiative aims to stimulate spending at the local public market and Medan Niaga Kampung Melayu Majidi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced this pilot programme as a strategic move to bolster support for local traders and invigorate the local economy. He emphasized the importance of traders committing to improving food quality, dish presentation, premises cleanliness, and customer service. This effort aligns with the state government's goal to position the market as a model for organized, clean, and customer-friendly food court management.

Onn Hafiz recently inspected the operations and facilities at Medan Niaga Kampung Melayu Majidi, accompanied by state Youth, Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee chairman Mohd Hairi Mad Shah, and st ate Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor. The visit focused on ensuring the welfare of traders and visitor comfort while serving as a platform for direct engagement with traders to understand their views, suggestions, and challenges in daily operations.

The state government previously introduced initiatives to support traders, including rental discounts of up to 50% until the end of the year. Additionally, facility upgrades such as fly traps, televisions, and improvements to cleanliness and overall comfort in the food court area have been implemented to enhance the market experience.
