Kuala Lumpur:J&T Express Malaysia and Asia Aero Network have announced the extension of their air cargo charter partnership until 2030, following an agreement signed today. This strategic move is set to enhance the provision of reliable and efficient air cargo services, particularly between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Vincent Low, the chief executive officer of J&T Express Malaysia, stated that the partnership would allow for greater flexibility to meet the growing demand for logistics services. From January to September this year, the company's air transportation capacity increased by over 15 percent.
Since the launch of their air cargo operations in January 2026, J&T Express Malaysia and Asia Aero Network have completed more than 300 charter flights, transporting over 6,300 tonnes of cargo between Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching. Vincent Low highlighted that the partnership had notably improved transportation performance during peak periods, with a significant reduction in transit times during Ramadan 2026 compared to the previous year.
Looking forward, the daily air cargo requirements are expected to reach 250 to 300 tonnes. This partnership is anticipated to bolster J&T Express Malaysia's air freight capabilities and support its broader regional logistics network.
Iman Marco, the chief executive officer of Asia Aero Network, emphasized the mutual commitment to building a long-term business relationship through this agreement. He noted that the partnership provides an opportunity for close planning with their customer to deliver consistent and reliable service, with a focus on execution and earning trust daily.
The agreement sets a framework for expanding cooperation in air cargo charter services and exploring additional business opportunities in Malaysia and the ASEAN region.
