Johor bahru: Johor and Singapore have demonstrated that economic success is rooted in strategic partnerships rather than competition, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi stated. This assertion is exemplified by the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), which highlights the complementary competitive advantages of both regions.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Onn Hafiz emphasized that aligning these strengths will lead to more strategic and competitive economic capabilities on an international scale. His comments were made in a Facebook post following a meeting with Singapore’s National Development Minister Chee Hong Tat and his delegation at the official residence of the Johor Menteri Besar, Saujana Johor Bahru.
Onn Hafiz elaborated that the JS-SEZ is poised to accelerate investment approvals, minimize trade barriers, and broaden access to global markets. These developments are expected to generate high-quality jobs for residents of both Johor and Singapore. He expressed deep appreciation for Singapore’s dedication and willingness to enhance cross-border collaborations for mutual advantage.
