Kuala lumpur: The Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) has expressed full support for the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah's recent call for solat hajat (prayer of need) in response to the haze situation currently impacting Sarawak.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Dr. Zulkifli Hasan emphasized the importance of solidarity among Muslims nationwide, urging all mosques in the Federal Territories to join in seeking divine assistance. He noted that the combination of physical effort and prayer serves as a critical tool for believers, asserting that tests are only lifted through divine permission, grace, and love.

In his statement on Facebook, Dr. Hasan highlighted the religious duty to preserve the environment as a trust from Allah and encouraged compliance with directives from authorities to protect lives. He called on Muslims to increase righteous deeds, seek forgiveness, and hope for the lifting of the haze, wishing for well-being and clean air for Sarawak.

The Sultan of Pahang had decreed last Saturday that solat hajat be observed at all mosques in Pahang, stressing the necessity of pairing prayers with actions to confront the health and well-being challenges posed by the haze.
