Subang Jaya: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has received 82 applications from victims of the devastating gas pipeline blaze in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, for the free reprinting of their essential documents. JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli stated that the applications were submitted through a mobile counter set up in the compound of Masjid Putra Heights this morning.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, as of 4.30 pm today, JPJ has received 13 applications for road tax, 53 for vehicle ownership certificates, 13 for competent driving licences (CDL), and three for goods driving licences (GDL). All these applications are processed free of charge, except for five individuals renewing their CDL. Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli provided this information when contacted regarding the relief efforts.
Earlier, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that JPJ had established a mobile counter at the temporary relief centre at Masjid Putra Heights. This initiative, operating today and tomorrow, aims to assist victims in replacing their lost or damaged transport documents without the need for a police report.
The massive fire, which erupted at 8.10 am on Tuesday, resulted in towering flames and intense heat, leading to the destruction of rows of houses and properties, including more than 300 vehicles. Sixty-four people were injured, and over 300 people were displaced, though no fatalities were reported.
