Kuala lumpur: Seat negotiations among component parties within Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the 16th Johor State Election have been finalised, says PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. He announced that the process was successfully concluded following discussions with leaders from Amanah, PKR, and DAP.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin Nasution expressed gratitude to Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke during the launch of the PH election machinery for the Johor State Election. The event was also attended by Prime Minister and PH chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. In his speech, Saifuddin, who is also a PKR vice-president, mentioned that final details regarding seat distribution would be handed over to Johor PH leadership, headed by Aminolhuda Hassan.
With seat negotiations completed, PH's focus will now shift to preparing the election machinery, including on-the-ground work, logistics coordination, and delivering the right messages to voters to ensure PH's victory in Johor. Saifuddin also criticized parties using identity and racial politics to gain support, labeling such tactics as 'politics of fear' meant to divide society. He emphasized PH's inclusive approach, highlighting unity among Malays, Chinese, and Indians as part of their political strategy.
Previously, PH announced plans to contest all 56 state assembly seats in Johor in the upcoming election. In the last state election, PH secured 12 seats, while Barisan Nasional won 40, Perikatan Nasional three, and MUDA one seat.
