Johor Polls Outcome Will Not Affect Federal Government Stability, Says Ahmad Zahid

Kulai: Barisan Nasional (BN) has assured that the results of the 16th Johor State Election will not impact the stability and cooperation among political parties at the federal government level. BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized that the federal administration is operating as usual and hopes that this harmony will continue undisturbed.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, highlighted the professionalism of ministers and deputy ministers in the federal government, noting that their responsibilities remain unaffected by the political competition in Johor. "So far it has not disrupted the cooperation within the (federal) government. I certainly hope there will be no disruption, regardless of the outcome (of the Johor polls) tomorrow. The ministers and deputy ministers are all professional," he remarked to reporters after attending the Himpunan Munajat BN Kulai.

Ahmad Zahid, also serving as the Rural and Regional Development Minister, reiterated that political differences during the Johor polls should not prevent Cabinet members from collaborating for the nation's benefit. He stated, "Yes, we may have differing views in Johor and raise issues that could help our respective candidates win, but we deliberate wisely, amicably and professionally in every Cabinet meeting."

Furthermore, he urged all party members and grassroots supporters, especially from BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH), to maintain composure after the state election results are announced. "I hope all parties will take a lesson from the maturity shown by the top leadership of both political blocs (BN and PH), which have always conducted themselves professionally," he added. Both BN and PH are contesting all 56 seats in the state election, with polling scheduled for tomorrow.
