Johor: Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) will continue its preparations to face the State Election (PRN) following the dissolution of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) today. In addition, the coalition plans to bring further discussions to the central PH Presidential Council level to map out the next steps.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Johor PH leadership, consisting of Johor Amanah Chairman and Johor PH Chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, Johor PKR Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, and Johor DAP Chairman Teo Nie Ching, issued a joint statement informing that preparations for the election had already been mobilized earlier. The statement also noted that Johor PH had anticipated the dissolution of the DUN would occur soon.
"For us, there is no such thing as an easy election. Pakatan Harapan stands ready to mobilize the best possible efforts to win this PRN," the statement read.
Earlier today, Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced in a special press conference at his official residence in Saujana that the Johor DUN is dissolved effective immediately to facilitate the PRN. He stated that the dissolution received the consent of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, following an audience held today.
According to Onn Hafiz, the dissolution aligns with Clause 23 of the Second Part of the Johor State Constitution 1895.
