Kuala lumpur: The Johor Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) successfully uncovered illegal diesel trading activities during Ops Tiris 4.0 at an industrial premises in Ulu Tiram on April 30. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 60-year-old local man, following intelligence gathered by the state KPDN Enforcement Division.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the premises involved in the illicit activities lacked the necessary licenses to conduct diesel-related operations. Lilis Saslinda Pornomo, the director of the Johor KPDN, revealed that the operation was allegedly masquerading as a legitimate diesel oil wholesaler to conceal its unlawful activities. The diesel was procured from a supplier and then sold to transport companies without the required licenses.
The authorities confiscated approximately 10,300 litres of diesel, along with a skid tank, a set of fuel pumps complete with nozzles and hoses, and transaction documents. The total value of the seized items was estimated at RM85,736.
The investigation is ongoing under the Control of Supplies Act 1961. Lilis Saslinda emphasized the commitment of her department to intensify enforcement measures to prevent the misuse of controlled goods.
