JIM Lodges Police Report Over Viral UTC Pudu Allegations

Kuala lumpur: The Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) has lodged a police report over a viral post concerning an applicant's experience at the UTC Pudu Sentral Immigration Branch Office. Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban stated that a review found several allegations in the post were inconsistent with closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, related records, and statements from officers on duty at the time of the incident.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the review was conducted by examining CCTV footage and related records, as well as obtaining statements from the officers involved. 'The department takes this matter seriously to ensure the actual situation can be clarified based on the facts obtained. A police report has been lodged and JIM will provide its full cooperation to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM),' Zakaria said.

Zakaria emphasized that JIM respected the right of every individual to voice their views, share their experiences, or submit complaints regarding the department's services. However, he stressed that accurate and comprehensive information was important to ensure matters could be evaluated fairly and to avoid misunderstandings.

He further stated that JIM remained committed to handling every complaint transparently, professionally, and without prejudice, while continuing to provide courteous services with integrity and prioritizing the interests of the public.
