Johor bahru: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) is set to face Thailand's Buriram United FC in their AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) 2026/2027 East Zone opener at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium tomorrow night. JDT head coach Xisco Munoz has expressed confidence in the team's preparation, stating that the Southern Tigers are "200 per cent ready" for the upcoming challenge against the Thai side.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Munoz acknowledged the strength of Buriram United, noting that despite being under the new leadership of Portuguese head coach Mario Silva, their style of play has remained consistent. Munoz emphasized the need for JDT to be vigilant from the start and to anticipate tactical changes from their opponents.

Munoz specifically pointed out the threat posed by Buriram's striker Guilherme Bissoli, describing him as a player who can capitalize on any opportunity. "It is important to stop their transitions, especially Bissoli, because he is a dangerous player," Munoz stated, underscoring the need for JDT to perform effectively in the final third of the pitch.

Despite suggestions that JDT's extensive match experience this season might give them an edge, Munoz dismissed these claims, emphasizing that a Champions League match demands full energy and focus from both teams.

JDT midfielder Eddy Israfilov echoed the coach's sentiments, expressing his readiness to contribute if selected for the match. While keeping the team's tactical strategies under wraps, Eddy assured that JDT had prepared for various scenarios the game might present.
