Jayanti Buddhist Temple Donates Ambulance to St. John Ambulance Malaysia

Pudu: The Jayanti Buddhist Temple in Pudu, here, today donated an ambulance to St. John Ambulance Malaysia (Federal Territory) to help strengthen emergency response services in the capital.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the temple’s advisor, Datuk Seri Boon Som Inong, stated that the ambulance, valued at over RM204,000, was funded through donations from Buddhist devotees at the temple. Boon emphasized the importance of the contribution, noting that St. John Ambulance handles numerous cases annually, especially during festive seasons. He expressed hope that the donation would assist in aiding accident victims and those in need.

The handover event, attended by St. John Ambulance Federal Territory Deputy Commander Datuk Koh Mui Tee and Selangor Buddhist Association president Prasert Eh Chai, highlighted the temple’s commitment to charitable activities. Boon mentioned that while the temple has been involved in various charitable efforts, such as distributing essential items to those in need, the ambulance donation stands as their largest contribution to date.

Koh expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that the additional ambulance would significantly enhance their ability to transfer patients and respond to hospital emergencies effectively.
