JAKIM Leads Ops Ihsan 2.0 to Enhance Humanitarian Aid Coordination

Kuala lumpur: The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) is spearheading the implementation of Ops Ihsan 2.0, a collaborative effort involving nearly 20 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) aimed at streamlining and enhancing the delivery of humanitarian aid.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JAKIM director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee emphasized that the new approach seeks to eliminate the duplication of aid efforts previously managed by individual NGOs. Last year, JAKIM successfully organized 30 programmes with corporate partners and selected companies that contributed through zakat wakalah initiatives or corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.

'This year, I am confident that more initiatives will be carried out by JAKIM in collaboration with corporate partners to strengthen dakwah (propagation of Islam) programmes so that Islam continues to flourish in Malaysia, Insya-Allah,' Sirajuddin stated. His remarks came during a session with the JAKIM Corporate Dakwah Secretariat (SDK), a platform uniting NGOs under the Jalur Gemilang banner to implement humanitarian aid activities domestically and internationally.

The session was officiated by Dr Zulkifli Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs). Sirajuddin highlighted that this was the first such gathering of the year and the 26th overall under SDK, a unit within JAKIM's Dakwah Division that collaborates with the corporate sector on nationwide dakwah programmes.

More than 20 corporate organisations participated in the initiative, including Lembaga Tabung Haji, the Employees Provident Fund, Permodalan Nasional Bhd, CIMB Islamic Bank, DRB-Hicom, and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad.
