Ipoh: The diverse coffee drinking culture of the country's multi-racial community, alongside elements of food, music, art, and tourism, will enliven the Ipoh Coffee Vibes 2026 Festival which will be held for four days at the Riverfront Old Town Ipoh next to Jalan Sultan Iskandar here. State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee announced that the festival, set to be held for the first time, is aiming to attract about 40,000 visitors from September 10 to 13.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loh Sze Yee mentioned that 50 food and beverage stalls will participate in the festival, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy coffee and watch performances along the Kinta River. The festival aims to showcase the unique identity of Ipoh as an iconic 'Coffee City,' highlighting its historical significance and cultural richness.

Loh emphasized that the Ipoh Coffee Vibes Festival 2026 would not only focus on white coffee but also bring together the coffee cultures of various races and styles. This includes special coffees from the Malay community, Indian kopi tarik, and international brands like Starbucks, alongside a variety of snacks and desserts themed with coffee.

In a bid to promote local coffee entrepreneurs, Loh announced the introduction of 'Kopi Rakyat' specifically for the festival. This initiative aims to offer the public a chance to enjoy diverse types and flavors of coffee at more affordable prices. The festival will also feature special performances, including a percussion performance themed to a white coffee shop, a kopi tarik performance, and a coffee-themed flying roti canai performance.

Visitors will also be treated to free white coffee provided by Chang Jiang White Coffee. Additionally, those who spend RM50 and above at the event site can participate in a lucky draw to win cash vouchers, while those who spend RM100 and above will be eligible to redeem a set of Ipoh Coffee Vibes special edition souvenir collections.
