Melaka: The increase in the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) quota from 200 litres to 300 litres per month, effective today, will not only help ease the people's burden but also boost the domestic tourism sector. Factory worker Johari Ibrahim, 44, from Klang, Selangor, expressed that the restoration of the quota to 300 litres is timely, especially during the school holidays, as most parents would seize the opportunity to bring their children on holiday or return to their hometowns.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Johari plans to travel to Melaka with his family during the school holidays, taking advantage of the increased quota to visit various tourist attractions and participate in the National Day celebrations. He noted that the increase would help reduce petrol expenses, allowing his family to explore more destinations.

Meanwhile, private-sector employee Rohani Senin, 37, from Batu Pahat, Johor, shared that the restored BUDI95 quota would enable her to plan a holiday trip to Melaka. She emphasized that the increase would alleviate the burden of daily expenses, making it feasible for her to take her children on a vacation to nearby historical sites.

Rozita Ismail, 44, from Klebang, expressed relief over the quota increase, as it allows her to send her children back to their hometown in Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, during long school holidays without incurring prohibitive petrol costs. She mentioned that the journey requires significant fuel expenditure, making the subsidy a crucial support.

Similarly, private-sector employee Johardy Haron, 28, residing in Ayer Keroh and working in Kuala Lumpur, highlighted the importance of the increased quota in managing his commuting expenses. He spends over RM600 monthly on petrol and relies on the BUDI95 subsidy to mitigate his cost of living.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the increase in the BUDI95 quota, benefiting more than 16 million users nationwide.
