KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) has announced that the Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) for cuplump and latex has not been activated for November 2024 in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MRB stated that effective January 2024, the IPG would be activated if the average monthly farmgate price for cuplump rubber reaches RM3.00 per kilogramme (kg) or below. The activation of IPG for latex is dependent on the activation of IPG for cuplump rubber. For latex, the incentive rate is set at 90 sen per kg, applicable for latex with 100 percent dry rubber content, and is designated for all eligible Malaysian rubber smallholders.

The MRB statement further clarified that for November 2024, the average price for cuplump was RM3.65 per kg in Peninsular Malaysia, RM3.30 per kg in Sabah, and RM3.20 per kg in Sarawak. Consequently, no IPG payment will be issued for this month.
