Integrity and Ethics: The Cornerstones of Innovation, Says Perlis Raja Muda

Kangar: Innovation in the era of rapid technological advancement and artificial intelligence must be firmly guided by integrity, ethics and social responsibility, said the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail. He emphasized that true success is not measured solely by victory or recognition, but by the extent to which inventions create meaningful solutions and benefit both humanity and the environment.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra stressed that every innovation and research effort must be grounded in integrity and ethics. He stated that honesty throughout the work process ensures that the outcomes produced are of genuine quality and reliability, while also bringing blessings to every endeavour. The Raja Muda of Perlis, who is also the Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), delivered these remarks while officiating the closing ceremony of the Perlis International Engineering Invention and Innovation Exhibition (Pi-ENVEX) 2026 at UniMAP.

Also present at the ceremony was the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, who is the Pro-Chancellor of UniMAP, along with UniMAP vice-chancellor Datuk Prof Dr Zaliman Sauli. Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra urged researchers and students to view their participation in Pi-ENVEX as a valuable platform for learning, development, and self-improvement.

He remarked that every experience, whether successful or otherwise, is an opportunity to gain knowledge, strengthen skills, and build self-confidence in facing greater challenges in the future. He also praised UniMAP for its impressive 2025 achievement, as the Graduate Tracking Study showed a Graduate Employability Rate of 99.3 per cent and a Graduate Marketability Rate of 99.4 per cent.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra highlighted that these achievements serve as proof of UniMAP's quality education in producing graduates who are competitive, relevant, and well-prepared to enter the workforce. Meanwhile, UniMAP vice-chancellor Zaliman noted that Pi-ENVEX 2026, in its 13th edition this year, showcased 221 products from both local and international participants across various categories.

He added that the exhibition attracted participation from 11 countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Romania, Sudan, Yemen, Nigeria, Egypt, Palestine, and Malaysia, further proving its relevance as an international platform for innovation and research. Zaliman thanked all participants for their commitment and participation in making Pi-ENVEX 2026 a success.
