Kuala lumpur: The Immigration Department (JIM) has blacklisted holders of Temporary Employment Visit Passes (PLKS) that were unlawfully approved through a syndicate that hacked the Malaysia Immigration System (MyIMMs). Immigration Department director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban stated that the action was taken following operations and raids at several locations to track down the involved PLKS holders.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the raids revealed discrepancies between the premises addresses and employer details compared to the information on the PLKS. As a result, those holders have been blacklisted in the immigration system and are unable to conduct any transactions or dealings unless they consult the relevant immigration office for inquiries.

On July 28, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in collaboration with JIM's Intelligence Division, executed a joint operation in the Klang Valley and Penang. The operation was supported by CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM), Telekom Malaysia, the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), and the MACC Technology Forensics Division (BFT).

Searches were carried out at company premises, JIM's Penang office, and its headquarters in Putrajaya. Authorities discovered that a total of 1,306 PLKS had been unlawfully approved across various locations nationwide, affecting multiple sectors.
