Melaka: Immigration FC's 2-0 victory over hosts Melaka FC in a Super League match at Stadium Hang Jebat last night earned them three full points, marking the team's third win of the season.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Immigration FC head coach Yusri Che Lah expressed gratitude for the important away victory, despite his players starting shakily in the opening 10 minutes of the match. He acknowledged the players' response and control of the game, which led to two goals through commitment and build-up play. Yusri Che Lah highlighted the discipline displayed by his players over the months under his guidance.
In the match, the visitors opened the scoring through Eduardo Jose Sosa Vegas in the 24th minute after capitalizing on a rebound from Joao Pedro Boeira Duarte's attempt, which Melaka FC goalkeeper Muhammad Haziq Aiman Mohd Esa failed to handle cleanly. Joao Pedro then doubled Immigration FC's lead in the 30th minute, providing a comfortable 2-0 advantage that remained until the final whistle.
Melaka FC head coach K Devan attributed their loss to defensive frailties, which allowed the opposition to apply pressure and hindered their ability to mount a comeback. He mentioned that proposals have been submitted to the management to bring in quality players, especially in midfield and attack, to strengthen the team.
The victory propelled Immigration FC to ninth place in the league standings with 12 points, while Melaka FC stayed in 12th with six points.
