Ibrahim Darus Appointed Acting Deputy IGP in Leadership Transition

Bukit aman: Bukit Aman Special Branch director Datuk Seri Ibrahim Darus has been appointed acting Deputy Inspector-General of Police (IGP) effective today, succeeding Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, who will retire tomorrow after nearly 35 years of service with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). The handover ceremony between Ayob Khan and Ibrahim was witnessed by IGP Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) here.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ayob Khan was appointed Deputy IGP on June 23, 2023, and has held various key positions throughout his extensive career with PDRM, including roles in the Special Branch and its Counter-Terrorism Division. His contributions have also included serving as Johor Police Chief, Director of the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, and Director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department before taking on the role of Deputy IGP.
