Selangor: The Selangor government will review follow-up measures to address the deteriorating haze situation, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. He stated that the matter would be discussed in detail, based on reports from all relevant parties, at the Selangor State Executive Council meeting scheduled for Friday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin mentioned this to reporters after officiating the Festival Turath Islami Malaysia 2026, at Masjid Putra. The festival was held in conjunction with the Festival Turath Islami Malaysia 2026. Amirudin emphasized the need for the state government to obtain information from the State Health Department and related agencies before deciding on the appropriate measures.

Amirudin highlighted that appropriate measures include efforts to assist at schools and supervise children while they study. This is crucial as children spend a significant amount of time at school, and there is a need to limit outdoor activities to avoid exposure to the haze.

As of 4.30 pm today, six areas in Selangor recorded Air Pollution Index (API) readings at unhealthy levels. According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, the areas with unhealthy levels were Johan Setia (183), Shah Alam (170), Petaling Jaya (164), Klang (160), and both Banting and Kuala Selangor (159).

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100 is moderate; 101 to 200 is unhealthy; 201 to 300 is very unhealthy; and above 301 is hazardous.
