Selangor: The Selangor state government is considering distributing free reusable cloth face masks to school students as the haze is expected to persist until October. Selangor Public Health and Environment Committee chairman Jamaliah Jamaluddin stated that the initiative is currently under discussion by the State Executive Council (MMKN) for potential implementation as a one-off initiative, with distribution planned to occur in stages.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Jamaliah mentioned that one of the proposed plans is to launch a one-off program aimed at distributing washable and reusable cloth face masks. This was announced during the launch event of the Support Partner Hub and Belia Sehat Hotline.

Jamaliah further noted that air quality is expected to improve over the coming days, with Air Pollutant Index (API) readings anticipated to be at moderate or good levels compared to the previous week. Currently, six areas in Selangor have recorded unhealthy API readings. Johan Setia registered the highest reading at 196, followed by Shah Alam at 171, Banting at 166, Petaling Jaya at 163, Klang at 160, and Kuala Selangor at 143.
