Kuching: Cross-border haze pushed air quality to unhealthy levels in six areas of Sarawak as of 4 pm, compared with five areas earlier in the day. Data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) showed unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in Kuching (153), Samarahan (155), Serian (171), Sri Aman (124), Mukah (115), and Bintulu (153).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sarawak's Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, mentioned that cross-border haze could affect 19 areas in the state over the next few days. Winds are currently carrying smoke from hotspots in neighboring regions into Sarawak.

The State Disaster Management Committee chairman identified the areas that could be affected by the haze. These areas include Betong, Bintulu, Daro, Julau, Kanowit, Kuching, Lundu, Marudi, Miri, Mukah, Pakan, Samarahan, Saratok, Serian, Sibu, Simunjan, Song, Sri Aman, and Tatau.
