HAWANA 2026 Photo Gallery Recalls History Of Celebration, Stories Of Tabung Kasih Recipients

Hawana: The history of the National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) and the stories of the beneficiaries of Tabung Kasih@HAWANA are now immortalised through a special photo gallery set up in conjunction with the celebration of the HAWANA 2026 Summit here.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin stated that the gallery is divided into two main segments. These segments include highlights of HAWANA from its inception in 2018 to 2025 and a visual display dedicated to the recipients of Tabung Kasih@HAWANA aid.

Nur-ul Afida, who also serves as the chairman of the HAWANA 2026 Working Committee, emphasized the significance of the exhibition as a platform to showcase Bernama's active role as the secretariat of Tabung Kasih@HAWANA and the celebration's implementing agency. The organization has traditionally operated behind the scenes in news reporting.

She further explained that the exhibition's main message is to appreciate the role of the media and their participation in this celebration dedicated to them. Additionally, the initiative aims to highlight how it has successfully assisted media professionals and veterans facing health issues and life difficulties.

The visual display also aims to evoke memories and experiences of media practitioners who participated in previous HAWANA celebrations. The HAWANA 2026 Summit, which will be held at the PICCA Convention Centre @ Arena Butterworth tomorrow, is scheduled to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Meanwhile, Bernama Photo Desk editor Mohamad Bakri Darus mentioned that the selection of photos was meticulously curated by the Bernama team. Each photo is accompanied by bilingual captions in Malay and English to ensure visitors can easily understand the context of the display.

Mohamad Bakri also noted that the exhibition recalls previous HAWANA venues, including Kuala Lumpur (2018 and 2025), Melaka (2022), Ipoh, Perak (2023), and Kuching, Sarawak (2024). Among the main program contents displayed are the Strategic Partner Meeting, Media Forum, HAWANA-DBP Pantun Festival, HAWANA Carnival and Exhibition, as well as HAWANA Sports.
