HAWANA 2024 Campus Tour Unites 2,000 Students Across Malaysia

KUALA NERUS: The National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2024 Campus Tour concluded successfully, uniting 2,000 students and lecturers from 16 public universities across Malaysia. The programme, which began in May, aimed to enhance educational resources and foster collaboration among academic institutions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, the chief executive officer of the Malaysian National News Agency, emphasized the programme’s positive impact. Notably, it included the provision of high-capacity computer sets and 65-inch televisions, donated by the Ministry of Communications, which have significantly benefited university faculties and students.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, officiated by the Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil, Nur-ul Afida noted that some universities are using the equipment to enhance their News Rooms. She proposed that the programme be continued and expanded to include polytechnic institutions, with a focus on photography, graphic design, and r
elated fields.

“This has been a remarkable achievement. With the conclusion of the programme today, I humbly seek the Minister of Communications’ approval to continue and expand this initiative next year, perhaps at the polytechnic level,” she stated.
