Halal Food Manufacturers Malaysia’s Gateway To Global Halal Market – DPM Ahmad Zahid

Bagan datuk: Local halal food manufacturing companies play a strategic role, not only in supporting the domestic market, but also as Malaysia's gateway to the global halal market. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized the national halal food sector's vast growth potential, with the global halal market currently valued at more than RM16.02 trillion and projected to expand to RM22.88 trillion by 2030.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid highlighted the role of QL Innofood Park, noting its significance in economic growth and employment creation. He stated that halal is inclusive, serving not only Muslims but all religions, and praised QL for its halal certification. Ahmad Zahid made these remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony of QL Innofood Park.

Also present at the event were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and QL Resources Berhad executive chairman Dr Chia Song Kun. Ahmad Zahid, who is also the chairman of the National Halal Council, reiterated that both federal and state governments would continue supporting companies in the halal industry, emphasizing the benefits such developments bring through corporate taxes and job creation.

Saarani added that the groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of a substantial industrial investment, planned to be implemented in phases over the next decade. The estimated investment value is RM1.2 billion, reflecting investors' confidence in Bagan Datuk's development potential.

He noted that the development of QL Innofood Park showcases investors' trust in the stability of state policies, clear planning, and the Perak state government's capability to provide a reliable investment environment. Saarani emphasized that the project opens new opportunities to strengthen Bagan Datuk's economic structure sustainably.
