Kuala Lumpur: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) remains committed to improving accommodations for Malaysian haj pilgrims by providing a new facility at Abraj Al-Tayseer, located in Zone B of the Hafai area. Maktab 83(A) accommodation manager Mohd Syafiq Shawal said the building has various modern utilities, including disability-friendly features, ensuring easier, more comfortable, and safer movement.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a week before the pilgrims’ arrival, the staff made thorough preparations, including checking the utilities at the accommodation. Special attention was given to ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities. Mohd Syafiq mentioned that the hotel has provided accessible pathways for persons with disabilities in all blocks, including Towers A, B, C, and D. Lifts and staircases are also available to facilitate pilgrims’ movement, while the dining areas are arranged with table layouts that guarantee comfort.
Mohd Syafiq explained that rooms at Abraj Al-Tayseer can accommodate between three and five pilgrims, with each provided with an access card to ensure security and facilitate quick entry. The building comprises four towers, with over 600 rooms. Each maktab is managed by six staff members, bringing the total number of staff stationed at the Abraj Al-Tayseer building to 24. Additionally, 24 welfare officers and 20 medical personnel are assigned to serve at two clinics and a day care centre located in Tower A.
The accommodation also features a customer service counter, worship guidance counter, ATM, laundry services, and a convenience store. To safeguard the health and well-being of the pilgrims, Tabung Haji has also set up a pharmacy counter and medication services, and a 24-hour operations room to handle any inquiries or emergencies.
