Labuan: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is optimistic that its political alliance with Pakatan Harapan (PH) will continue into the Sabah state election. Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) vice-president Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif expressed confidence in the alliance’s future as Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor, who is also PGRS president, undertakes strategic efforts to ensure the coalition’s collaboration with PH both during and after the polls.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Minister Hajiji is currently fine-tuning the details of ongoing discussions with PH, with an official announcement expected in due course. This was revealed by Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif after officiating the Labuan PGRS annual conference. The Labuan division is set to play a crucial support role during the state election campaign, with efforts including the establishment of an operations room in Labuan to coordinate support for PGRS candidates.
The five-year term of the 16th Sabah state assembly is set to expire automatically on November 11. In a recent statement, Chief Minister Hajiji emphasized that the cooperation between GRS and PH is rooted in shared governance goals and a commitment to political stability in Sabah. He noted that the collaboration has produced positive outcomes for the people, and the partnership remains vital for ensuring continued development and unity in the state.
