GRS Leads Sabah State Election with 16 Seats Amid Early Results

Kota kinabalu: Official results of the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN) indicate that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is leading with 16 seats as of 12.20 am, as stated by Election Commission (EC) Chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) has secured 10 seats, Barisan Nasional (BN) three seats, while Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku and Independent candidates have won two seats each. Additionally, Pakatan Harapan (PH), Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), and the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) have each won one seat.

In total, Ramlan noted that 38 out of the 73 seats have been announced so far, which accounts for more than 50 percent of the seats. The EC is still awaiting the results for the remaining 35 state constituencies across Sabah to be announced by the Returning Officers.

Further announcements of results will be provided periodically as they become available. The Sabah State Legislative Assembly consists of 73 seats, with a simple majority of 37 seats needed to form the state government.
