Kota kinabalu: The official results of the 17th Sabah state election have been announced, revealing the distribution of seats among the contesting political parties. A total of 73 state seats were up for grabs, with a simple majority of 37 seats required for any party or coalition to form the state government.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) emerged with 18 seats, leading the pack in the election outcome. Warisan secured 10 seats, while Barisan Nasional (BN) managed to claim 3 seats. Other parties such as UPKO and STAR obtained 1 and 2 seats respectively. KDM also secured a single seat. Notably, Perikatan Nasional (PN) did not win any seats, while Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Independents each acquired 1 and 2 seats, respectively.
These results play a crucial role in determining the political landscape of Sabah, with GRS positioned as the leading party. The formation of the state government will depend on potential coalitions or agreements among the parties to reach the necessary majority.
