Kuala lumpur: GrandCape (M) Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Cape EMS Bhd and New Grand Tech (HK) Ltd, anticipates generating US$7 million in monthly revenue through its four flexible flat cable (FFC) production lines. This strategic move aligns with their objective to capture 70% of the market demand, as highlighted by Cape EMS's managing director and group CEO, Christina Tee Kim Chin.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tee emphasized the scalability of their manufacturing and production technology, allowing the company to expand its production lines seamlessly to meet any surge in market demand. "We can have one, two, three, and four lines and can copy another four lines if needed," Tee stated during a press conference following the GrandCape joint venture agreement signing ceremony.
GrandCape is positioned as a dedicated manufacturing and engineering platform focusing on FFC, advanced electronics, artificial intelligence data centers (AIDC), and battery energy storage system (BESS) interconnect solutions. This initiative is a cornerstone of Cape EMS's CEB 2.0 transformation strategy, transitioning the company from a traditional assembly provider to an engineering-driven system integrator at the forefront of digital infrastructure and advanced energy systems.
The company aims to support high-performance connectivity essential for modern digital infrastructure by manufacturing specialized FFCs and high-density interconnect solutions. Through these efforts, Cape EMS is embedding itself within the supply chain that supports hyperscale AI deployments and generative AI model training.
Additionally, Cape EMS is enhancing its role in the global energy transition by delivering reliable interconnect systems for battery modules and large-scale BESS deployments. This expansion includes critical FFC connectivity for electric vehicle (EV) and smart mobility ecosystems. Tee revealed plans to build and install more EV chargers across Malaysia, targeting at least 500 installations by the end of the year, in partnership with EV Connect.
