Govt Pledges to Address Youth Challenges, Says PM Anwar

Klang: The government will do its utmost within its available capacity to help young people navigate various issues, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Through a Facebook post tonight, he said that this commitment was given after listening to the views and advice of youths on various matters at the "Temu Anwar" session and the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 International Youth Assembly (HAMKA) in Klang, Selangor today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, PM Anwar emphasized that young people today face an increasingly complex world where differences of opinion and clashes of ideas are common. However, he stressed that these must be guided by knowledge, arguments, and manners, rather than sentiments, hatred, or group interests. He assured that the government would strive to assist young people with various issues to the best of its abilities.

Regarding HAMKA, the Prime Minister mentioned that the name of the assembly reminds him of the cleric and literary figure Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah, who was renowned as a thinker, a lion of the podium, and a warrior of the pen. He noted that the figure's works and thoughts left a significant impact on the younger generation and taught the importance of knowledge, the courage to express views, and openness in generating ideas.
