Govt Ensures Development Projects Stay On Track, Focuses on Public Interest: Akmal Nasrullah

Kulim: The Ministry of Economy will continue to closely monitor the implementation of development projects, particularly those under its purview, to ensure they remain on track and are not delayed, especially for ongoing projects of public interest. Its Minister, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, emphasized the ongoing assessment of the need for government intervention to address the impact of the crisis through the National Economic Action Council (MTEN) meetings held weekly.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Akmal Nasrullah stated that the government needed to ensure the continuation of development since the benefits from these projects provide lasting impacts on the people and the country. He mentioned that while the effects are not immediate, the continuation of projects like water supply-related developments is essential for meeting future needs.

During his comments after a working visit to the Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP), Akmal Nasrullah highlighted the importance of prioritizing projects of public interest, especially those already in progress, should the fiscal burden increase. His advice to all stakeholders was to maintain current performance levels and proceed with planned developments.

Additionally, the minister noted that his visit to the Kulim Hi-Tech Park aimed to evaluate the progress of Phase Five of the industrial park. He stressed the importance of ensuring smooth implementation, particularly concerning water and energy supplies necessary for industrial development in the area. Akmal Nasrullah disclosed that the federal government allocated RM132 million for infrastructure development and a RM195 million loan for land acquisition and related needs.
