Kuala lumpur: The MADANI Government is focused on elevating the development of every village across the nation to an optimal level, covering essential infrastructure, economic growth, and public welfare, as stated by Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the Prime Minister's wife and Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament. This initiative underscores Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's commitment to ensuring that national development is inclusive of rural areas, not just concentrated in urban centers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kampung Angkat MADANI (MADANI adopted village) initiative represents a strategic move by the government to facilitate effective improvements in villages, engaging all stakeholders. Dr Wan Azizah highlighted this during her speech at the Kampung Angkat MADANI Carnival in Kampung Labu Lanjut, emphasizing the Prime Minister's vision for grassroots community development in Malaysia.
Dr Wan Azizah also noted the importance of balancing advancements in digital, economic, and technological sectors with the fundamental needs of village residents. She stressed the necessity of ensuring that children in villages benefit from development without neglecting essential services, even as the nation transitions towards a digital economy.
Additionally, Dr Wan Azizah urged parents to supervise their children's use of technology to shield them from harmful influences like cyberbullying and inappropriate content. The Kampung Angkat MADANI initiative, launched under Budget 2024, aims to enhance access to basic facilities such as water, electricity, roads, street lighting, community amenities, and telecommunications through a comprehensive government approach.
