Government Reaffirms Commitment to Empower Tamil Schools, Allocates RM237.48 Million

Kuala lumpur: The government will persist in empowering Tamil National Type Schools (SJKT) to ensure every child has access to quality educational opportunities, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo announced. Highlighting the importance of SJKT, he noted its crucial role in promoting learning, culture, and identity among students.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Gobind expressed his sentiments through a Facebook post, underscoring the significance of the 43rd Effingham Estate SJK(T) Annual Sports Championship as a reminder of the need to continue empowering schools and guiding future generations. "Every child deserves the opportunity to develop their potential and play a part in building a prosperous Malaysia for all," he stated.

Gobind revealed that a substantial allocation of RM237.48 million has been earmarked for the period from 2023 to 2026. These funds are designated for maintenance work, upgrades, and constructing new facilities within Tamil schools. He emphasized that this allocation demonstrates the government's commitment to the welfare of the Indian community and assures that children receive the best during their schooling years.

Despite economic challenges, Gobind asserted that the government's dedication to supporting Tamil schools remains unwavering. He stressed the importance of ongoing efforts to enhance educational facilities to establish a conducive learning environment for the younger generation. "I will continue to serve the people to the best of my ability and do whatever it takes to continue supporting the community," he affirmed.
