Kandis: The government is currently in the process of gathering up-to-date data and facts concerning the situation of 36 Malaysian umrah pilgrims who have been reported stranded in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and are seeking to return home. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, emphasized the importance of thoroughly examining the issue before any measures are implemented.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Zulkifli stated that a comprehensive review is necessary due to the involvement of multiple issues and aspects. He communicated this during a session for the handover of Sinar Lestari housing by the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) in Kampung Aman, Kandis.
Earlier reports from local media highlighted that the group of 36 pilgrims in Madinah, who are currently without return flight tickets to Malaysia, have called on the responsible travel agency to expedite their travel arrangements and take accountability for the situation.
