Government Intensifies Scrutiny on Dubious Badal Haji Services

Kuala lumpur: The government will continue to monitor suspicious offers related to badal haji services, particularly at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and on social media platforms. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan stated that this ongoing surveillance aims to protect Malaysians from potential scams, especially as the Haj season approaches.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, there have been no complaints regarding badal haji fraud so far. However, Tabung Haji has taken proactive measures by deploying personnel to oversee activities on social media and at KLIA. Dr Zulkifli urged Malaysians, especially Muslims, to verify offers with relevant authorities to avoid losses. He emphasized that the high cost of performing the Haj makes unrealistic offers unlikely to meet the necessary pillars and obligations of the pilgrimage.

Earlier, Malaysian consul-general in Jeddah, Tengku Mohd Dzaraif Raja Abdul Kadir, also warned Malaysians against questionable badal haji services, especially those advertised at prices significantly lower than the actual costs. Meanwhile, 30 women from the Kelantan Rehabilitation Centre for Persons with Disabilities participated in a programme aimed at enhancing their skills and generating income through the production and sale of bakery and pastry products.
