Kuala lumpur: The government, through the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), has allocated RM65.6 million in subsidies to support 956 sessions of the MADANI Rahmah Sales Programme (PJRM) in Terengganu this year from January 1 to today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Terengganu KPDN director Mohd Mufsi Lat stated that 1.2 million residents in the state have benefited from the PJRM. The programme includes various formats such as in-premises, mobile, market, campus, and open spaces. A total sales value of RM1,297,766 has been recorded, with goods offered at prices 10 to 30 percent lower than standard rates.

The PJRM initiative in Terengganu is being strengthened by adding strategic partners and operators to broaden community access to essential goods at more affordable prices. This year, 16 new operators have joined the PJRM, with six in Setiu or Besut, five in Kemaman, three in Hulu Terengganu or Marang, and one each in Kuala Nerus and Dungun, bringing the total to 98 operators statewide.

Mohd Mufsi highlighted that about 100 more PJRM sessions are planned throughout the state until December. The plan is to conduct five PJRM sessions weekly, as suggested by the Prime Minister.

However, Mohd Mufsi also disclosed that three PJRM operators have been temporarily suspended for failing to adhere to the programme's conditions and guidelines. Offenses included submitting subsidy claims that did not match the documents and actual implementation records and violating PJRM wholesale sales regulations, such as selling goods beyond the allowed quantity limit.

The purchase limit is designed to ensure the subsidy benefits reach as many users as possible, aligning with the programme's objectives. The suspended operators will face a month-long suspension from participating in any PJRM events. KPDN will re-audit these operators to evaluate compliance and improvement actions, with audit outcomes determining their future eligibility in the PJRM.
