Gold Futures Experience Slight Decline Amid Profit-Taking on Bursa Malaysia

Kuala lumpur: Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives concluded the trading session slightly lower today as investors engaged in profit-taking activities, despite witnessing gains on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the spot-month August 2026 contract saw a minor decrease, closing at US$4,065.80 per troy ounce compared to US$4,067.70 per troy ounce on Monday. Similarly, the September 2026 contract experienced a slight drop, ending at US$4,077.40 per troy ounce, down from US$4,079.80 previously.

The contracts for October 2026, November 2026, and December 2026 also reflected a downward trend, each closing at US$4,090.30 per troy ounce in contrast to US$4,092.80 noted the day before. The trading volume increased to 145 lots from 116 lots on Monday, while open interest expanded to 213 contracts from the previous 181 contracts.

Physical gold was set at US$4,028.15 per troy ounce during the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on August 3, 2026.
